The Role:

The Technical Delivery Coordinator (TDC) supports the office in running smoothly and assists in the success of each project by ensuring that communication flows easily from the client to the project team, and by creating the first draft of project documentation, monitoring the status of all projects and supporting the Project Managers. The TDC embodies effectiveness and efficiency through the utilization and reinforcement of GUNN best practices, reports, database management, templates and tracking systems. Duties include:

Administrative and Document Coordination:

  • Work under the direct supervision of a professional engineer.
  • Draft engineering documentation, including proposals, contracts, reports, specifications, and letters.
  • Edit and issue documents.
  • Coordinate and track project documentation, schedules, and deadlines.
  • Assist the engineering team in managing projects.
  • Follow up with contractors and clients to resolve outstanding items.
  • Attend meetings and conference calls as required and prepare meeting minutes.
  • Provide cross-coverage support for the Project Accounting Coordinator and Proposal Coordinator roles.
  • Streamline and document training and project procedures.
  • Maintain job files and company databases.
  • Route all communications in and out of the office.
  • Support the Office Administrator by answering phones as needed.
  • Assist with special projects for the Administrative and Leadership Teams as required.

The role involves an initial training and introduction phase as our Technical Delivery Coordinator (TDC), with a transition to Junior Project Engineer. The Technical Delivery Coordinator assists in the success of each project by creating the first draft of project documentation, monitoring the status of all technical projects, and supporting the Project Managers. The TDC embodies effectiveness and efficiency through the utilization and reinforcement of GUNN best practices, reports, database management, templates and tracking systems. Duties include:
  • Drafting technical documentation (proposals, contracts, reports, specifications, letters, etc.)
  • Document editing and issuance
  • Coordination and tracking of project documentation, schedules, and deadlines
  • Following up with contractors and clients to resolve outstanding items
  • Attendance at meetings/conference calls as required, preparation minutes of meetings
Junior Project Engineers begin in the Technical Delivery Coordinator position to gain a full understanding of how an elevator project works from start to finish. You would slowly transition to Junior Project Engineer and be placed in one of the special divisions (ex. New Construction, Modernization, Inspections and Special Projects). This transition is broken down as follows: Phase 1: Technical Delivery Coordinator (Training Phase) Phase 2: Transition from Technical Delivery Coordinator to Junior Project Engineer (Training Phase) Phase 3: Junior Project Engineer Who You Are:

Job Description:

Elevator Inspectors are an integral part of our Inspections and Special Projects Team, in addition to providing field support for our Modernization and New Construction departments. They are the primary point of contact for the client, and manage all day to day activities relating to inspection projects, including, but not limited to:
  • Field review/Site inspections of elevator and escalator equipment
  • Detailed review of Elevator / Escalator Maintenance, Reliability, and Life Cycle concerns
  • Confirm code compliance of equipment and maintenance practices
  • Develop clear recommendations to remedy concerns noted on site
  • Develop material and labour estimates for recommended scope of work
  • Prepare reports, specifications, letters, faxes, transmittals, etc.
  • Bid review, contract review and preparation, bid negotiation
  • Determining project schedule by studying project plan and specifications; calculating time requirements; sequencing project elements
  • Maintaining project schedule by monitoring project progress; coordinating activities; resolving problems
  • Business development and other business duties as required
  • Some travel to project locations

  • Excellent MS Word, Excel, Outlook skills

  • Excellent MS Word, Excel, Outlook skills
  • CAD/Drawing experience ideal
