BCIT has worked with Gunn Consultants on many elevator modernization projects over the years. Most recently, we launched an initiative to install CCTV cameras in all of our elevator cabs. We retained Gunn to prepare tender specifications and turnkey manage the project with our assistance to coordinate the brief shutdowns required. Execution required the coordination and close collaboration of several parties, elevator contractor, security contractor, and IT network contractor. The project was delivered flawlessly in true turn key fashion. A budget that was expected to cover only half our elevator fleet, was stretched to complete the entire fleet due to efficiencies and savings realized during the work. All BCIT stakeholders are very pleased with the outcome!

GUNN were fantastic to work with from the early design stage through to Construction Documents and Project Administration. I would definitely recommend the use of an elevator consultant for an elevator project like ours in the future, as the use of a consultant really helped to reduce the strata council's workload, while at the same time helped to avoid potential contractual disputes. Without GUNN, it would have been difficult for the strata council to formalize the scope of work, perform a thorough bid evaluation, or even have a strong contract with appropriate technical performance requirements.

I have used GUNN Consultants for a number of years to assist with the assessment of damages to elevators as a result of damage that leads to an insurance claim. GUNN is always professional and provides an accurate and unbiased accounting of the damages. They provide timely feedback on damage estimates and assist with working with the elevator repair vendor to ensure costs are maintained and repairs are completed in a timely manner. The personnel involved is very pleasant to deal with and very knowledgeable. They explain the whole process and answer any questions. They help the "general public" understand how the elevators work, identify possible issues and their main causes and will also walk you through renovation projects.
